About DFW Prom Dreams
DFW Prom Dreams is a community-driven initiative created by Wave of Unity to ensure every high school senior has the chance to experience prom with dignity, confidence, and joy.
We partner with schools across the metroplex to identify deserving students and provide them with attire, styling, and full prom-night support. Through the help of sponsors, volunteers, and community partners, DFW Prom Dreams removes financial barriers so seniors can step into their big night feeling celebrated, empowered, and unforgettable.

How It Works
We make the process simple, impactful, and student-first.

Nominations Close – Once the nomination period ends, our team reviews all forms and selects the students who will participate.

Announcement Day – Winners are celebrated at their school during a special announcement.

Parent/Guardian Meeting – A mandatory meeting is held to review expectations and details (exceptions for confirmed independent teens).

Shopping Events – Separate events for boys and girls, where each student enjoys a curated shopping experience for their full prom look.

Prom Prep Day – Held at a special venue (location shared in the welcome packet), with styling, glam, and final touches.

Prom Send-Off – All participants are transported in style to prom, making their arrival just as unforgettable as the night itself.

Volunteer Opportunities
DFW Prom Dreams wouldn’t be possible without volunteers who bring energy, care, and joy to every step of the experience. From fittings to the big day, you can play a role in making prom unforgettable for local seniors.
Ways to Serve:

Shopping Days – Assist students as they select dresses, suits, shoes, and accessories.

Fitting Team – Help with sizing, alterations, and making sure every student feels confident.

Glam Squad – Provide hair, makeup, or barber services (licensed professionals).

Prom Prep Day – Set up the venue, organize attire, and add finishing touches before the celebration.
