As the flowers bloom and the days grow warmer, April reminds us of the beauty in growth, fresh starts, and community. At Wave of Unity, this month is especially meaningful as we step into one of our busiest—and most fulfilling—times of the year.

We’re celebrating hope, empowerment, and togetherness all April long, and we couldn’t be more excited about what’s ahead.

💛 DFW Prom Dreams: The Heart of Our April

One of our most impactful initiatives, DFW Prom Dreams, is in full bloom this month. We're giving three incredible young women a prom experience they’ll never forget—with beautiful gowns, glam, luxury transportation, professional photos, and a curated send-off space.But this isn’t just about the dresses or the makeup—it’s about making these girls feel seen, celebrated, and deeply supported. This is our second year supporting students in Cedar Hill, and next year, we plan to expand into more districts to reach even more deserving students.

💸 $1 for Joy. $1 for Impact.

We recently launched our $1 for Joy, $1 for Impact campaign—a viral social media effort inviting people from all walks of life to contribute just $1 toward our mission. Why? Because small acts create big waves. And if enough of us come together, we can raise the funds needed to make moments like prom unforgettable.

💬 New Things Are Blooming

We’re also laying the groundwork for new, recurring events and community offerings, including:

• Unity Talks: Honest virtual conversations on topics that matter.

• Cradle Talk: A new weekly virtual series for expectant and new parents.

• Unity University: Our new home for monthly in-person and virtual workshops—covering everything from life skills to family wellness.

And for our creatives, professionals, and entrepreneurs: get ready for our upcoming Headshot Happy Hour—a fun way to network, refresh your branding, and pour into your goals.
